The Harlem Globetrotters will return to the United Kingdom as part of their 2003 European Tour after an eight year absence. The six-week tour will tip-off on April 12 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and continues through the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and Spain.

“It’s hard to believe that the last time the Globetrotters were in the United Kingdom was 1995, when they took on Kareem Abdul-Jabar’s All-Star Team. Not a week passes when we don’t get an email or phone call asking us when the Globetrotters will return to the UK,” stated Harlem Globetrotters Owner and Chairman Mannie Jackson. “We always have an enthusiastic response whenever we come to Europe. However, this trip is shaping up as extra special for the team.”

The Globetrotters, who were inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in September, are currently on their Burger King sponsored 2003 North American exhibition tour with games in more than 200 cities through April of 2003. The team was named the most liked and most popular sports team by the 2002 Q ratings. The Globetrotters recently marked their 21,000th victory when they played in Kalamazoo, Mich.
