Newcastle Eagles secured their passage into the semi-finals of the BBL Championship Play-offs thanks to a 101-85 victory over the Thames Valley Tigers in Bracknell on Saturday night.

Newcastle started brightly with an early 22-5 burst to lead 34-15 midway through the opening period.

Tigers stormed back with an 18-6 tear in the second quarter and a 15-0 run across the half-time break to take the lead at 54-51.

However, the visitors came back with a 8-0 tear across the final break and a 9-4 run with four minutes remaining in the game, giving Eagles an 86-77 advantage as they ran out eventual winners.

Jeremy Hyatt was impressive for the visitors leading all scorers with 30 points, including 18 from behind-the-arc, while Tony Holley led the Tigers scoring with 21 points.
