Westfield Sharks Sheffield clinched their semi-final berth in the BBL Championship Play-offs with a 90-83 overtime victory over Milton Keynes Lions at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre on Saturday night.

An 18-7 run in the first period saw the Lions lead 24-14 early on and they maintained their advantage through the second period to lead 43-34 at half-time.

The Sharks started the second half strongly, outscoring the Lions 25-13 in the third period to lead 59-56 going into the final stanza.

Sheffield led by three-points at 77-74 with 20 seconds remaining, before Freddie Cole hit the three-pointer to take the game into overtime.

In the extra period, Sheffield cruised through scoring 13 points to the Lions' six.

Lynard Stewart led the Sharks scoring with 17 points, while Freddie Cole scored over half of the visitors' points to lead all scorers with 44 points.
